Why Do Your Single Friends Refuse To Date Online
Online dating is more popular now than ever. I am from a pre internet dating age. I got married in my thrities and I love it. I have many single friends and over the years I vicariously have enjoyed their experiences.
Girls and hooking up is the main goal. Meeting people in pubs, the office and functions. My friends are single and 40. They thought they would be settled at 40. Viewing the past with regret becomes a past time. Some of their relationships were with brilliant and beautiful women. They broke those girls hearts, all because they imagined there was something better out there for them.
Being single with all these opportunities may mean you want to be single. The slow set at the disco was the best way to meet and snog new girls. The slow set was a unique Irish thing, every disco had a slow section where you could ask a girl to dance and get a snog. Outside of these areas the only other options were Introductions from friends or chance encounters. With the internet you can even have online speed dating amongst other great applications. There are so many options it makes the mind boggle.
What is going on? The web is an amazing tool, are they using it. Actually, maybe it is being used by them. I wonder if they are being coy. Internet dating is established, no need to stigmatise it. It seems there is a stigma about using the internet for dating and that’s what amazes me. Luckily I am a happy married man. In another life. I would be on the net in a flash. On the net the numbers game works as you dont have to leave your surroundings. More opportunities come with more dates. A lot of wasted time too. Nobody said it was easy and to sound like my mother, if you want something badly enough you got to put in the effort
Whats the delay get into it now?The best technology is out there, just use it. Get the benefit from its use. Without it, you have lowered your chances. You got to be in it to win it.
