Going Out For Romance? Heres a Pre-Date Checklist
You know, there are some rules that should be followed before a person goes on a date or gets ready for a night on the town looking for romance. If you hope to bring someone home with you, you should create a pre-romance checklist. Here are just a few of the things that should be included:
Number 1 – Make your bed. In fact, better than that change the sheets and, if necessary, the blankets and bedspread.
It’s also going to be necessary to clean your house – top to bottom. It doesn’t have to be spic and span but dirty clothes should be in the hamper and dirty dishes in the sink, not on the coffee table with leftovers on them.
The next most important thing to do before a night on the town is to clean your bathroom. The toilet and the shower, tub and sink should be spotless. You should have plenty of clean towels too. Make sure there is plenty of toilet paper. Remember, women use more than men do.
Just in case – make sure there is breakfast food available. The kind you can cook. Bacon, eggs, toast, coffee and juice are the best choices. Muffins are great, and even yogurt. Cold cereal is not the coolest thing to offer a person who has just spent the night in your home for the first time.
Your checklist before a night on the town looking for romance should also include a light snack and something to drink, both alcoholic and non, for that evening as well. You don’t want to be caught without a nice pre-romantic drink, if you know what I mean!
If you have an answering machine attached to your phone instead of voice mail anyone in its vicinity can hear the message left when you don’t answer the phone. If that’s the case either turn the volume off on the machine and turn the ringer off on the phone, or unplug the phone. What you don’t want is a past date calling and saying something romantic or lascivious within earshot.
Remember practice safe sex. Keep plenty of “safe sex” stuff ready by your bed but out of sight. You want to be prepared but not looking over eager.
Maybe consider having some candles ready for the bedroom, but again don’t bring those out right away.
Put your lights to a dim setting before you leave for the evening. If your lights don’t have a dimmer switch and/or they’re not three way, pick up some 40-60 watt bulbs and replace your current bright lights.
And, last but not least, wear clean underwear and socks. You definitely don’t want to get down to these and have a frightful odor take over the room (although, this could be where the candles come in handy!)
This might seem like a lot to do before heading out on a date looking for love and romance, but the price of a little clean up will seem small compared to what could happen under the covers later.
